Thus the minister speaking in the Chamber in the Chamber during the question time answering a question from the Pd on doctors under investigation for prescribing unnecessary hormone-based drugs to children. Balduzzi added that the electronic prescription in the future will be able to reduce negative situations.
24 OCT – "For the future, it is hoped that the electronic health prescription can reduce negative situations, because with the traceability of the entire drug journey it will be easier to verify deviations" and anomalies. This was reported by the Minister of Health, Renato Balduzzi, during the Question Time in the Chamber, answering a question from the Democratic Party on the Nas investigation which unmasked a turnover for the sale of hormonal drugs, for which 67 doctors from hospitals throughout Italy and scientific informants and managers of the pharmaceutical company are being investigated Sandoz.
According to the minister, those under investigation are "particularly squalid and hateful behaviors, also because they are drugs intended for minors".
"Our system - added Balduzzi - has long since identified methods for drug traceability, but this evidently fails to act as a barrier to squalid and hateful behavior such as those that have occurred". The indication, he continued, “to intensify controls was given some time ago. However, it is up to the Regions and the Local Health Authorities to verify – concluded Balduzzi – the prescriptive appropriateness, even with direct investigations”.
